"Your program is by far the best in the industry in terms of price, quality, and scope of the information. It's a great value and I appreciate the time and thought you put into the CCNP products. Very nicely done indeed."
-- Jason Neumann, CCNP
"Thanks for all your help and support in my Cisco journey. I would not be a network engineer working for a Cisco Gold Partner without your instruction."
-- Ken Gander, CCNP
"One thing I wanted to note was your style of writing. I really was receptive to this style and think more people could learn from this method. The fact that you carefully placed small doses of positivity within the technical writing was really encouraging!"
-- Nick Algood, CCNP

I used your stuff exclusively to study for every Cisco exam that I've taken and I think they are by far the best training materials available for anyone looking to become Cisco certified."

Chris Bryant CCNP SWITCH 300115 Study Guide eBook Chris Bryant
I love Chris' writing style...personality goes a long way. I haven't finished yet, but there is some misleading information on some of the graphic inserts, and he explains part of STP port priority function just plain backwards from the truth. I had to go to my copy of the official Cisco Press release to verify the correct information. Due to this, I hesitate to accept other things in the book, and feel like I'll be second guessing information, which is bad when you're prepping for a test.Product details

Chris Bryant CCNP SWITCH 300115 Study Guide eBook Chris Bryant Reviews
Very, very conversational tone and easy to read. Probably the best book to purchase to study for CCNP switch. However, there are some details he leaves out that the Cisco Press books contain, some of the more minute stuff. Some of it might be on the test, some might not, depends on what you draw, but I'd say, overall, this is the best book on the market for CCNP Switch.
As always, Chris provides good stuff that is easy to follow and in my mind blows CBT Nuggets away. His stuff is even above Ken Wallace that does the Cisco sponsored videos. Find Chris's 300-115 video course and you will have what it takes to pass the exam the first time.
On pages 85-90 of this book, Mr. Bryant gives a scenario to try to explain how interface port-priority manipulation is used to determine the root port of downstream switches. His configurations and examples are completely wrong in the book. They basically instruct an administrator to make a port-priority number higher for interfaces you prefer to become the root port. When in reality the lowest port-priority number on an interface determines the downstream election. His udemy course taught this concept correctly but after spending a couple hours researching this topic after being misinformed from the book I was a little upset. I am writing this review for anyone else who might be researching the same issue.
Chris is an amazing instructor that presents topics in a easy to understand manner, and he adds some personality and spice to the material. I recently passed my CCNP Route test using Chris's book and video course. I want to say the things I like about this book are that it is Large, the font is large and you can read it without straining your eyes. There is plenty of space to make notes on the large pages, and it comes at a price that makes it alright to write in it! I love how the book follows his video courses so you can have a clear reference to follow along. I love having a paper book that I can pull out and study anywhere I happen to be. The things that I think he could do better with this book are A Table of Contents, when it is coming up on test day and I need to flip around and find a specific chapter or section. A Index, even a basic one. The index is important when I am trying to find that one specific thing to review. I would love to see an Appendix with complete configs for all the labs. I would also love to see some review questions at the end of each chapter. Even with those things this book gets five stars for the sheer quality of it's content, its affordability, its large size and readable font. Chris, when are you going to get the TSHOOT book out?!?
I was very excited to get this book based on all the positive reviews. I'd warn anyone considering purchasing this that I'm on chapter 5 and there are multiple errors. I'd be okay with this if there was a place to track the errata, but there is not. I've sent an email to the author and no response. It's a shame because I like his style, but I don't recommend this book for exam prep.
I have been using Chris Bryant's Cisco exam prep material since the TrainSignal days. His CCNA course helped pave the way for not only passing my CCNA, but scoring exemplary marks on my exam. Last year I was defeated by the 300-115 exam after reading the Cisco OCG book cover to cover three times. I also did several exercises on my home lab. You would think Cisco's OFFICIAL Certification Guide would have all the material required to pass the exam. No offense to David Hucaby, the book is well written just incomplete. When I sat for the test, there were many questions that were not covered. There is nothing more frustrating than to sacrifice countless hours to study for an exam only to have gaps in information. I have been going through the Bryant Advantage Success Series volume for the 300-115 and Chris ACTUALLY explains the grey areas that Cisco failed to cover. I place for the test on 2/20/17 and study for at least four hours every day. I have also been taking Boson practice exams (highly recommended). In the end, this is only an exam. Sure, it may set you back $300 (Cisco or Pearson just increased the exam fees O), but if you work hard enough you will pass this exam. Even if you fail, this course upgrades your skills as a Network Engineer and that can never be taken from you. Excellent work Chris and I am patiently waiting for your CCDA/CCDP/CCIE courses. ;-)
I give OK. It is not enough for passing the exam. Very simple to read. You can go through in a few days the way it is written. I liked reading it, but it does not cover all the bells and wiseles. I give it a 2 star because I do not believe it is worth buying. CISCO PRESS BOOKS are just way better. I read both, and I liked Cisco press way more. Just watch Chris's video on Udemy, and it will suffice from what you can get in Chris's material. I hope it had been helpful.
I love Chris' writing style...personality goes a long way. I haven't finished yet, but there is some misleading information on some of the graphic inserts, and he explains part of STP port priority function just plain backwards from the truth. I had to go to my copy of the official Cisco Press release to verify the correct information. Due to this, I hesitate to accept other things in the book, and feel like I'll be second guessing information, which is bad when you're prepping for a test.
